Common agreements differ from the frequently used “basic rules.” While the ground rules define acceptable behaviours, codes of conduct and, more generally, what the group does not want to do, common agreements are more important in creating group responsibility and mutual respect. Common agreements are rooted in values, principles and justice. They focus on what the group wants to do and who wants to be in the common space. Performance-based agreements, such as rsc berantai, focus more on production and valuation rates compared to production-sharing contracts, which are favoured by oil companies. The focus on optimizing production capacity in outlying areas can be extended to contracts for the recovery of major oil deposits in a rapidly comprehensive resource industry. Often referred to as “paths to being” or “group norms,” common agreements are at the heart of creating an inclusive space. They are effective because they create ways to meet at the beginning of a meeting/conference/workshop, etc., and hold people to account. If someone violates a common agreement, the intermediaries or the group can, together, gently remind them of the agreements reached. Production-sharing agreements were first used in Bolivia in the early 1950s, although their first implementation was similar to that of today in Indonesia in the 1960s.  Today, they are often used in the Middle East and Central Asia. Pending the entry into force of such a separate agreement, each ELL and BKK will make reasonable economic efforts to take or implement all measures and do or do whatever is reasonably necessary, regular or timely under existing laws, regulations and agreements, in order to grant the other the rights and privileges of the assigned part of the corresponding joint agreement. Note to participants that your role as moderator is to help the group maximize its time in order to achieve its common goals. Along the way, your mission is to keep activities on track and on time to ensure that everyone is fully engaged and participates in how they feel most comfortable. There are many ways to create group agreements. To decide to use them, you can consider some of the following: whether the group will work together in the longer term, what is the controversy over the topic of the meeting or workshop, how long you have and how much confidence the group has in you as a mediator.
